Well, I know some people able to get a full chromatic scale on two holes
on a richter diatonic! So, know that Howard is using a Bb harp but making
it sound like a Eb would not suprise me that much.
Fred Yonnet told me one day He had Howard in his house and that Fred was
playing and using a Bb harp (and people who have heard Fred know what I
mean when I say that Fred is amazing harmonica player!!).they both were in
the kitchen. and Howard was doing exactely the same things as Fred: sames
notes, same speed, same intonations and articulations but Howard was using

the low end of a standard 10 hole. I realize that for Amazing Grace he
uses a low Eb, but for America he clearly switches to a regular Eb. If
it's not a 12 hole harp, then either I'm musically deaf or Levy can
create notes that don't exist.
